When can I best visit Bogori National Reserve Kenya?
The reserve can be visited all year round, with all good conditions favorable for wildlife sightings and tours. The environment of Lake Bogoria National Reserve enriches your experience with temperate temperatures and seasonal rains, allowing you to explore the Kenyan geological bush all year. The dry and wet seasons are largely the same as they are in other parts of Kenya.
Despite these good weather conditions, the reserve does experience an unusual weather pattern of extended showers in July and August on occasion. From July through October, the lengthy cool-dry season is in effect, and we believe this is the finest time to come. Because the amount of drinking water accessible to wildlife has decreased as a result of the decreasing rainfall, animals tend to concentrate around the permanent water holes within the reserve.
Therefore, one can say that the best time to visit the Bogoria National Reserve is during the dry season when the entrance of excited families coincides with summer school holidays, resulting in a rise in visitor numbers. If you visit Lake Bogoria during this season, keep in mind that the higher altitudes around the reserve have colder temperatures. As a result, we recommend bringing a warm jacket or fleece with you on any hikes that take you to substantially higher elevations.
The rainy periods are short spells in November and December, and this starts at the end of October, when this short rain with the moisture from heavy showers evaporates fast in tropical Kenya. Because the roads and walking paths are still open, your activities should be unaffected by the rain.
