Day 1; Start your Our 5 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla safari with a pickup from Kigali and drive to Volcanoes National Park

 From the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our professional tour guide for a meet and greet shortly after you have arrived at the Kigali International Airport.  You will embark on the journey to Volcanoes National park and this takes about a three-hour drive which is about 116 kilometers from the capital Kigali. You will drive as you enjoy the countryside magnificent hills and mountains which have made Rwanda be called the land of a thousand hills. You will arrive and do short tours around the Gishenyi and later return to your booked lodge for the dinner and overnight stay

Day 2; Gorilla tracking safari experience in Volcanoes National Park

You will need to wake up early in the morning and drive to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for your briefing at the park before trekking the gorillas in the juggle. In case you are interested in porters then do and later go into the forest jungle and look for the gorilla habituated family. You will spend about two to five hours depending on how the gorilla family is found and then located. The trek will take you to the forest and once you have seen the gorilla family, you will study the gorilla family, see how they feed, learn more about the gorillas in the 6-meter distances and this is done in order to make sure that the animals are not an affected by the communicable distances. After seeing the gorillas, you will then drive back to the lodge to have your lunch and then spend some time relaxing, and then you will wait for dinner at your lodge hotel.

Day 3; Drive to Goma-Virunga National Park through Gishenyi to Lake Kivu

After having the early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo to the town of the Goma through Gisenyi. As you move to Virunga National Park, you will be able to see the views of Lake Kivu as you move to Nyiragongo volcanoes. As can as well decide to move through the Gishenyi beaches and have the chilling moments and do the optional boat cruise at Lake Kivu, explore the sandy beaches, and drive to Virunga National Park where you will have diner and overnight stay

Day 4; Gorilla trekking experience in Congo’s Virunga National Park

You will wake up very early and into the vehicle and drive to the park headquarters for the briefing by the rangers. The briefing is done before any activity in the gorilla trekking and this is so much interesting. After you have been briefed, together with the ranger and then the porter if you have them, you will head into the forest and then search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla tracking lasts for between 3 to 5 hours but this will depend on how far the habituated gorillas family and your level of fitness.  Once you have seen the gorilla family in the forest, you will have a one-hour study and understanding of the mountain gorillas in their presence.  Remember to keep the six-meter distance between you and the mountain gorillas, and here you will understand more what is happening with the gorillas, their daily activities, and how they feed, lactate, as you take photos and ask any questions that you would like to know and after this encounter, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and after you will check out in the evening  and drive to Gisenyi where you will reach in time and enjoy the views of the Lake Kivu  or if time allows you will go for the boat cruise at Lake Kivu before you check in to your booked lodge in Gisheyi for dinner and the overnight stay

Day 5 End of your Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla safari

Today you will have your morning breakfast and together with your driver, you will drive back to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda where you will be able to get your flight back. We believe that by the end of this day, you will have had a wonderful experience of gorillas in Rwanda and Congo destinations. This trip can be extended to other primate destination like Nyungwe forest national park in Rwanda and Kahuzi Biega national park in DR Congo
