Our safari will take you to Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo for trekking the endangered mountain gorillas, then proceed to the Kahuzi Biega National Park still in Congo to track the Eastern Lowland Gorillas and the chimpanzee trekking. This means that this is a fully packed primate safari where you will be able to spend 5 nights and then 6 days in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Day 1: Start with the pickup from Kigali and drive to Virunga National Park

Here, the journey will start with our safari guide picking you up from Kigali International airport or at your hotel in Kigali and start the amazing journey to Virunga national park as you enjoy the clear views of Rwanda 100 hills and the scenes of mountains and the widening roads.  You will reach the Virunga National Park head officers or headquarters in the afternoon, meet and get the park staff and pick your gorillas to permit that you will use to trek the gorillas in the following morning or next day and after, your driver-guide will drive you back to your booked lodge for   late lunch, relaxation, wait for dinners and overnight stay

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking experience in Congo

Today is the highlight of our 6 Days Rwanda Congo safari package and you will wake up very early and into the vehicle and drive to the park headquarters for the briefing by the rangers. The briefing is done before any activity in the gorilla trekking and this is so much interesting. After you have been briefed, together with the ranger and then the porter if you have them, you will head into the forest and then search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla tracking lasts for between 3 to 5 hours but this will depend on how far the habituated gorillas family and your level of fitness.  Once you have seen the gorilla family in the forest, you will have a one-hour study and understanding of the mountain gorillas in their presence.  Remember to keep the six-meter distance between you and the mountain gorillas, and here you will understand more what is happening with the gorillas, their daily activities, and how they feed, lactate, as you take photos and ask any questions that you would like to know and after this encounter, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch that is if you have not traveled with it in the forest and later spend the evening with your leisure time as you wait for dinner and the overnight stay

Day 3: Enjoy the chimpanzee trekking in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Still, you will wake up early in the morning and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the chimpanzee trekking and then after gorilla trekking, you will go to the forest and search for the located habituated chimpanzee group and you will stay one hour with the chimpanzees and alter you will later drive back to your lodge.  Chimpanzee trekking is good for all the visitors as it gives much time to the visitors and later you will return to your lodge

Day 4:  From Virunga National park – Drive to Kahuzi Biega National Park in Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo

You will wake up in the morning, then have breakfast and after your breakfast, you will drive you the Bukavu which is located in the southern Congo. It is not long-distance but the roads are not good enough so you need to get up early and start the journey. It is about 4 hours’ drive from Virunga National Park to Kahuzi Biega National Park. You will check into your Lodge for lunch, relax, wait for the Lodge and later wait for the dinner and overnight stay

Day 5: Morning Eastern Lowland Gorilla Tracking experience

You will be picked up by our driver guide from our hotel in the morning and taken to the park headquarters for briefing meaning that you have to wake up early in the morning such that you can be served your breakfast early before being transferred to the park offices for briefing. You will be briefed about what you are going to do, what to expect with the gorilla tracking and the history of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park. After the briefing, the ranger guides will allocate you to one of the habituated eastern lowland gorillas groups and set off for trekking.  The gorilla trekking experience lasts for only one hour however you might even spend about four days looking for the gorillas depending on the location. Once you discover them, you’ve only one hour of their presence earlier than you leave. Depending on the time you discover the gorillas, they will be feeding on resting that’s the exceptional time for photography and thus you will have to make sure that you do all these activities in only one hour and later after you will trek back to the starting point where your safari driver will pick up and transfer you back to your lodge

Yes, today is the last day of your 6 Days Congo   Magical Gorilla Expedition Trip, you will wakeup prepare yourself, have breakfast and after breakfast, you will checkout from your hotel room and find your driver guide who will drive you to Kigali city or Kigali international airport depending on where you picked you from and this journey will take about 7 hours with an interesting stopover and you will have your lunch when your reach Kigali.
