Day 1; Start with a pickup from Kigali international airport or Kigali city – transfer to Virunga National Park in Congo

 Today, you will be able to wake up early in the morning and get ready to be picked by our safari guide and start our 6 Days Rwanda Congo safari package. Our safari driver will pick you up, greet you, and give you a short description of this safari or this itinerary giving what you expect to see and how you should handle yourself during the drive to the park. you will then start driving to driving to Goma city and the journey will be for about 5 hours and later, you will be able to go to the Grande Barrier where you will check with the tourism officers at the Virunga National Park which is well nestled in the building. After all this, you and your driver guide will be greeted by security and proceed to your booked hotel. You will arrive early at the hotel for lunch and have enough relaxation as you prepared for the next day’s activity of hiking. In the evening, you will have dinner and then an overnight stay

Day 2:  Tracking the Virunga gorillas in Congo

Today is the highlight of our 6 Days Rwanda Congo safari package and you will wake up very early and into the vehicle and drive to the park headquarters for the briefing by the rangers. The briefing is done before any activity in the gorilla trekking and this is so much interesting. After you have been briefed, together with the ranger and then the porter if you have them, you will head into the forest and then search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla tracking lasts for between 3 to 5 hours but this will depend on how far the habituated gorillas family and your level of fitness.  Once you have seen the gorilla family in the forest, you will have a one-hour study and understanding of the mountain gorillas in their presence.  Remember to keep the six-meter distance between you and the mountain gorillas, and here you will understand more what is happening with the gorillas, their daily activities, and how they feed, lactate, as you take photos and ask any questions that you would like to know and after this encounter, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch that is if you have not traveled with it in the forest and later spend the evening with your leisure time as you wait for dinner and the overnight stay

Day 3; From Virunga National Park to hiking Nyiragongo volcano up to the summit

This is the most demanding adventure activity that you will be able to have on day 3 of our 6 Days Rwanda Congo safari package. Because of the nature of the activity, you will wake up early in the morning such that by 7 am you are done with the breakfast and everything is ready for you to drive to Kibati where you will meet the ranger for briefing before the real hiking commences.  If you are interested, you will hire a porter and after the long waited journey will start the long waited hike. The hike involves several stopovers for you to stretch and cool you and ascending up to the hike will last for about 6 hours but this depends on your physical fitness.  When you arrive at the peak of the Nyiragongo Mountains, you will be shown where to sleep and this will be in the cabins and you will have some relaxation as you have a look at the stunning views of the mountains and see clearly the hot lava later spend your night at the summit

Day 4; From Nyiragongo summit start descending and then drive back to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda

Yes, you will have the morning breakfast at the top of the Nyiragongo Volcanoe and then you will start your now descending from the top and descending is much easier as compared to ascending and it will last for about 3 hours and later you will arrive at your Kibati Ranger post at around midday and here your driver, will lead you to   Goma and then cross back to Rwanda. From here you will get served with lunch at Gisenyi and now you will later travel to Volcanoes National Park and check into your lodge, have the evening tours of the Lake Kivu and then retire back to your lodge for your dinner and the overnight Stay

Day 5:  Tracking the Volcanoes National Park Gorillas in Rwanda

You will need to wake up early in the morning and drive to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for your briefing at the park before trekking the gorillas in the juggle. In case you are interested in porters then do and later go into the forest jungle and look for the gorilla habituated family. You will spend about two to five hours depending on how the gorillas family is found and then located. The trek will take you to the forest and once you have seen the gorilla family, you will study the gorilla family, see how they feed, learn more about the gorillas in the 6-meter distances and this is done in order to make sure that the animals are not an affected by the communicable distances. After seeing the gorillas, you will then drive back to the lodge to have your lunch and then spend some time relaxing, and then you will wait for dinner at your lodge hotel.

Day 6: Drive from Volcanoes National Park to Kigali International Park

This is the last day of your 6 Days Rwanda Congo safari package, you will start the relaxed morning with the breakfast and accompaniment which will be served by your hotel, and after you will pack your belongings and make sure that you have not left anything in the room and checkout from your hotel room. And now you will drive back to Kigali. If you have enough time, you will visit the Diane Fossey Memorial Fund Museum before you drive back to Kigali International Airport to connect with your flight back home
