Porter fees.

If you’re interested in trekking during the wet season, it is important to hire a Porter who will help you during hiking, as gorilla trekking involves moving into deep searching for the gorillas for long hours. Therefore, hiking with heavy luggage can make you feel uncomfortable and you need to hire a porter. The cost for a porter is 15USD.

Tipping

The hotel staff, park guide, and porters will work hard to make your dream real even if they are not paid well. It is important to tip them but on your own choice because it is not compulsory. A tip of 10USD would be great.

Other essential items are important in your gorilla trekking packing list, which includes a camera with extra batteries, a pair of binocular, a guidebook, travel maps, cash buying remembrance, an itinerary from your tour company. What are the costs for trekking the gorillas of Uganda and Rwanda

A permit for gorilla trekking in Uganda goes at $700 for foreign nonresidents per person each trek, $600 for foreign residents, and 250,000 Ugandan shillings for East African citizens while a gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500. In Uganda, gorilla permits are acquired from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), in Rwanda is got from Rwanda Development Board or through Africa Adventure Vacations. This gorilla trekking permit allows a tourist to spend only one hour with mountain gorillas while learning more about their behaviors like nesting, how mothers feed their younger ones, playing, and so on. During the wet season, you can book your gorilla permit at any time of the month you wish to trek, but it is good to book your permits in advance to avoid disturbance. Only 8 tourists are allowed to visit a gorilla group every day and those below 15 years of age are not accepted to trek.
