What is the most appropriate time to visit Uganda for mountain gorilla trekking?

All the mountain gorilla parks in Uganda are located in the southwestern part of the country and in the same climatic region. Being in the same climatic region means that the dry seasons and the rainy seasons happen at the same time in all the parks. The dry season is the best for mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga and Bwindi and this occurs in June to September and December to February and during this time there is little or no rainfall in the park.

Since the rainfall is little or not there at all, the vegetation is thin giving clear views of the park animals, the trekking trails are less muddy and not slippery hence increasing the speed of trekkers, and lastly the roads leading to the parks are passable. Most of the travelers like moving in the dry season therefore we argue our clients to book their trekking or habituation permits in advance of 3-4 months to avoid inconveniences.

Tourists can as well visit Bwindi and Mgahinga of Uganda in the rainy seasons of March to May and October to November and coming this time will enable them to get used discounts on accommodation facilities. Tourists need to know that the rainy season is characterized by too much rainfall, thick vegetation cover, slippery and muddy trekking trails, and roads leading to the parks are always impassable.
