Gorilla trekking in Ruhija sector begins in the morning at 8 with a briefing where a group of trekkers are taught about the rules and regulations of the trekking activity. After the briefing, the rangers pair trekkers into 8, and each group is given a ranger guide to lead them into the forest to search for these mountain gorillas. during the search for mountain gorillas, there are opportunities of seeing some of the park animals such as elephants, buffaloes, duikers, birds, and different tree species. after locating mountain gorillas, 1 hour is given to trekkers to be around mountain gorillas as they learn about their habits and take photos.
